Dear Members and Associates,

It’s Ratings time again.

The latest results have been released for the GMAA Star Ratings.  They are listed on our web site:

http://gmaa.asn.au/star_rating.cfm

There has been a fair mount of movement in the ratings this year with 14 courses increasing their Star rating, with only four courses loosing one Star.  This indicates continuing improvement of Australian MBAs.

Congratulations go to the universities that maintained their 5-Star ratings, which were: Universities of Queensland, Adelaide, South Australia, Melbourne, Macquarie, Deakin, as well as two programmes from both Griffith and University of Western Australia.

Congratulations also go to the two MBA programmes that increased to 5-Stars this year: University of Adelaide’s Master of Business Administration (Advanced) and Deakin University’s Master of Business Administration (International).

There has also been increasing attention on the GMAA Star ratings.  We are frequently contacted about the Star Ratings and it is our most popular internet page.

The release is very timely as the national MBA & Postgrad expo launches September 8-24.  We will have representatives at each of the cities to provide the star ratings, discuss MBAs with prospective students and seek membership from prospective students.

The postgrad expo may also be of interest to current members seeking continuing professional development or further post-grad qualification.

MBAs In The News

Big Three finetune their MBAs

Business Education: Stephen Matchett | August 19, 2009

Perhaps happy business faculties, like families, all look much the same.

Alec Cameron, dean of UNSW's Australian School of Business, says the new strategic plan, which is ready to launch, emphasises expanding awareness of his colleagues' work. At UNSW, demand from international and domestic students has stayed strong, thanks "to our fantastic reputation". At Melbourne the university-wide emphasis on expanded graduate studies will mean more pre-experience masters courses in business, but Abernethy "does not anticipate" expanding the total number of students.
